Training is teaching and guiding any individual a defined step to be followed and basic obedience so as to improve the way of life. Puppy is in the prenatal stage of development and can be stated as pup which has not reached sexual maturity. It is less than one year old and is juvenile. The initial two-three weeks known as neonatal period can involve learning simple and easy associations. After the neonatal stage, comes the socialization period involving social relationships with man and mingling with other puppies. It is generally advised that initial training of juvenile puppies should be very light and caring as during the first few weeks puppy goes through emotional turmoil of being separated from her littermates and mother.

It is against the law to separate puppies from their mother before 7-8 weeks so that a major part of socialization period is with the littermates and mother. Later on the training structure can be changed once the young puppy is acclimatized to the new condition and environment.

It is necessary that all the family members should agree to common rules so that the puppy is trained accordingly as when the new pet has joined the family everyone is very emotionally attached to the new member. In such conditions they might insist to let them sleep in your own bed instead of crate and feed the puppy from your own plate instead of their plate. These are basic things to be taken care of while puppy is being trained in the home that is enforcing the set rules.

There are formal training classes organized by Kennels, independent trainers and pet agencies for puppies offering in-house training and socialization classes, physical coordination and concentration They ensure that the training involves consistent command and techniques. Training can be given at home by independent trainers like paper training, proper and timely usage of litter box and crate.

It is always recommended to reward or applaud your puppy if they show good behavior and to bring those good habits as a practice. As we know puppies cannot understand humane language but they definitely understand that if you are clapping and laughing then you are pleased. They tend to repeat those events time and again to make you happy thereby making it a habit for themselves. For all Dog lovers, puppy training is an integral and most important phase to raise an obedient, social and playful dog to keep our home safe and protected.
